Power blackouts are common in India and thus,
providing continuous supply of power to our surveillance systems is sometimes a
challenge. Some of our clients for whom continuous operation of the
surveillance system is crucial, have purchased generators to ensure that the
system is not disrupted by blackouts. It is economical in the long run if you
compare the cost of solar energy to the cost of energy offered by using a
diesel generator. The return on investment is much faster. Solar and wind
energy are most effective in areas where no or irregular power is available.
In the current era
where energy crisis is common, it is a huge achievement to implement a system
using renewable energy to its maximum potential. Livedarshan has
accomplished this in a project which was carried out for Redi Port Pvt Ltd, where
we have utilized solar and wind energy
to power an IP-based surveillance system.
Solar energy
is the energy derived from the sun through the form of solar radiation. Solar
powered electrical generation relies on photovoltaic effect. Photovoltaic is
a method of generating electric current by converting solar radiation
directly into electric current using semiconductors. See the diagram
below to better understand how solar energy works.
Wind generators generate
electricity by converting the kinetic
energy of the wind into mechanical energy. This mechanical energy is then
converted into electric energy using turbines. The diagram below shows how a
wind generator works.
In this project, we at Livedarshan have built a wind
and solar hybrid power system to provide power to the devices which make up
the IP-based surveillance system. This includes 14 IP cameras, a 16
channel N.V.R (Network Video Recorder) and 6 wireless equipments. All of
these devices use voltage in the range of 12 to 24 V dc.
During the day, some of the power which is generated
by the wind turbines and solar panels is used to charge a big power storage
device (i.e. a battery). This device will then be use to power the surveillance
system at night.
The diagram below will help you better understand
how a wind and solar hybrid power system functions.
The wind and solar hybrid power system is more
beneficial than a diesel generator. Diesel generators require 0.28 to 0.04 L of
fuel to produce per kilowatt of power per hour. It also produces smoke
and noise pollution in the process. Furthermore, due to
the continuous increase in fuel prices, setting up a diesel generator is
becoming more and more expensive. On the other hand, the costs involved in
setting up a wind and solar hybrid power system only consists of the cost of
purchasing and maintaining the equipment required (i.e. solar panels & wind
turbines). There is no fuel costs involved and if the system is well
maintained, it will work satisfactorily for many years.
Our client has benefited a
great deal from the wind and solar
hybrid power system. Their power costs have dropped immensely after the
implementation of this system.

/ wind powered solution for your requirement let Livedarshan help you. Please
